Lora Hlavsa (b. 1991) is an artist, illustrator, and designer living and working in Minneapolis, MN, USA.
As an artist, Lora’s work is informed greatly by identity and culture. As the eldest daughter of a Filipino mother and a Minnesotan father and raised in Minnesota and California, her own multicultural identity and upbringing has shaped her world view, and she is primarily concerned with the complicated equations of what makes us all uniquely human. Her work explores identity, pop culture, and nature through the lens of color and pattern, creating bold compositions that are chaotic from afar and immersive up close.
As an illustrator and designer, Lora loves working with mission-driven organizations on visual storytelling for the common good. Her colorful, maximalist, and playful style has a handcrafted touch.
Lora is passionate about community care, and so she donates 10% of all sales each month to a local Twin Cities non-profit. For 2026, she is donating to CAPI MN, a 40+ year old organization in Minnesota whose mission is to advance prosperity for immigrants. Their culturally-specific food shelf is one of the first of its kind and a critical resource in the Twin Cities, especially after Operation Metro Surge forced many immigrants to stay home in fear of ICE.
Lora is currently accepting freelance inquiries for projects starting in August 2026.
